This violin appears to have been made around 1930. It is fitted with a generic Stradivarius label.

The two piece back, ribs, neck and scroll are of mildly flamed maple. The top is of very good tone spruce with an even medium grain. The Fs and scroll appear somewhat perfunctory but the tracing of the purfling and corner work show an experienced and steady hand. This violin is responsive and easy to play. It would be a suitable intermediate upgrade for a talented student wishing to make progress.
