This well-toned and responsive child violin belongs to a grouping commonly referred to as 'good old German and French trade'. This refers to the excellent output of large French and German commercial workshops from the period 1890 to around 1940.
After some eighty years of serving a few generations of young musicians, this violin is in impeccable condition, completely free of cracks and repairs. Although unlabeled it is manifestly of German origin, nicely made with attention to detail.
This violin reflects the very high standard of materials and workmanship associated with the commercial output of German workshops of 100 years ago, and any young player should considerate it a privilege to use such a fine instrument as a stepping stone. This violin would open a wide door of progress to a deserving young musician.
