This bow was featured in the Strad Magazine (April 2024) as a superb example of the work of this maker.

This is an outstanding bow with the supremely good playing properties one would associate with a gold-mounted bow. It should satisfy the expectations of the most discerning musician.

Although stamped F N Voirin à Paris, the Dutch authority Joseph Vedral assessed it as being the work of 'Glaesel', being Richard Otto Gaesel (1885 - 1931), who was a very highly sought-after German maker from Markneukirchen who made supremely good replicas of leading makers.

This bow is made in the French style from every point of view. The frog has characteristic bevelled edges and slides in a rebate in the stick, which makes it impossible for the frog to roll from side to side.

This bow is suitable for high level professional work and is equal to any demands made on it. It is by all standards a superb bow.
