In addition to being a bow maker Karl Grimm (1811-1877), was also a respected violin maker. He was established in Saaz (Bohemia) and was also known to be an excellent musician.

This bow is unusually firm and being slightly on the heavy side it greatly facilitates powerful tone production whilst at the same time being superbly balanced and allowing for excellent articulation.

Despite its age it shows very little ware and is in truly superb condition.
