The unusual firmness of this unstamped pernambuco viola bow makes it easy to draw big tone from even the largest of violas. It has excellent articulation and balance and can be described as a good bow.
It doesn't show much wear on the stick and grip area and it can be assumed to have been made around 1960, or a bit earlier. Although of good quality, the silver-mounted frog and three-ring adjuster are likely not the originals. The silver-plated lapping is recent as is the thumbpad. The frog has seen some minor restoration, but remains in good condition and the whole bow is structurally secure.
