This bowmaker is based in Sacramento, California, but other than that, no further biographical information could be obtained about him.
An assessment of this bow shows workmanship of a very high order on an excellent choice of materials, crafted into a superb viola bow. This, however, is not a recent bow and a calculated guess is that it was made during the 1970s or maybe slightly earlier. Its provenance would confirm that it probably was acquired by the previous owner (who is now deceased) during the 70s or soon thereafter. Furthermore, wherever bows by this maker are listed, it is along with considerable respect for his work.
This bow is made of excellent materials - the stick is of high-grade pernambuco, cut to octagonal. The facets are crisp and tidy. The ebony frog is silver-mounted with a parisian eye and it is tipped in silver.
It is perfectly straight and has superb playing properties any professional violist would appreciate.
