This excellent three-quarter size cello was the childhood instrument of the prominent young South African cellist, Chris Van Zyl who acquired it at the age of nine and used it until he upgraded to a full-size cello. In the course of 2022 Chris was accepted for advanced cello studies in the United States. This cello has subsequently also served another young cellist to the point of upgrade and is now again available.
This cello is in excellent condition, completely free from cracks or repairs. The top is of very good tone spruce with wide grain. The two-piece back, ribs, neck and scroll are of mildly figured maple. The varnish is reddish brown and workmanship throughout represents the finest output of the Stentor company.
This cello would be an open door to rapid progress for a talented young cellist, as it has already been for two other young players.
This cello is sold with a basic student bow and moulded zipped case.
It is very well-toned and responsive and easy to play.
