This is a well-toned and attractive violin in excellent condition. Workmanship throughout is very good, notably in the well-balanced scroll, the purfling and the somewhat narrow corners. It is fitted with a generic Stradivari label indicating German origin and was probably made around 1920.

The two-piece back, ribs , neck and scroll are of mildly flamed maple with a narrow to medium curl. The top is of good quality tone spruce with very straight and even growth lines.

This violin is suitable for an advanced student upgrade to entry-level professional performance.

Other than a minor repair to a treble wingcrack, this violin is in superb structural condition, completely free from cracks or other repairs. Scratches and other marks are superficial and consistent with an instrument of this age.
