A good contemporary cello bow of
American Origin
Circa 1980

With an appraisal by Joan Balter, Berkley, USA (1997)

This bow is unstamped, but bears the characteristics of good workmanship by a master craftsman, lifting it several cuts above regular trade fare. It comes with a letter of appraisal by an American appraiser of bows, Joan Balter of Berkley, California.

The stick is of very good pernambuco and in excellent condition, as are the nut and other fittings. It's firm and well-balanced, allowing for good control over tonal gradations.

I had it tried and assessed by several professional cellists who all commented favorably on its properties. This is a good bow by all standards, and would suit a professional musician.
